<g:title>Recent Poems</g:title>
      <g:description>
***Shortlisted for the 2025/26 Michael Marks Award for Pamphlets***

Recent Poems includes excerpts from the sequence No Monument from 2020 and a selection of poems written between 2022 and the present. The poems are purposeful, charged with all the feelings necessary to ‘go to war with the mere earth’s/ hunger to consume us.’ They hold to and express, at times almost with fervour, the duty we have to one another – the living, the dead, the recently born – to be true and to be there.

Hugh Foley’s poetry and criticism have appeared in a number of places, including the London Magazine, Poetry Review and the Boston Review. He is the author of an academic work on American poetry and of several study guides for children. He writes a Substack newsletter, Useless Concentration.

32pp A6 riso pamphlet
</g:description>
